About Dr. Addy Olubamiji

Founder/CEO of Pathfinders

Dr. Olubamiji made history as the first Black individual to earn a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, in 2017. Despite growing up in poverty in Ibadan, Nigeria, she transformed hardship into strength, earning a degree in Physics from Olabisi Onabanjo University before pursuing her dreams abroad.

Recognizing the potential of advanced technologies, she pivoted her PhD to focus on 3D printing, positioning herself as a trailblazer in Industry 4.0. Her work has earned her numerous accolades, including recognition among Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women and as one of the 27 Influential Women in Manufacturing in the U.S.

Dedicated to empowering Black youth, Dr. Olubamiji founded STEMHub Foundation, a nonprofit creating opportunities in STEM through outreach and mentorship. Her story underscores the importance of representation: "If they cannot see us, they cannot become us."
